All eyes from across the globe are focused upon Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meet of the year 2025. The venue of the meet is at Tianjin from August 31 till September 1,2025. This year’s summit is being give special importance from diplomatic and strategic point of views. When my column reaches to my respected readers of India, Bangladesh plus rest of the globe, then it is felt that the Summit will lose some relevance. Still, I as a political analyst from India, do feel that the SCO Summit is relevant. But why is it so? The hypothesis seems deep-rooted.

Judging by my hypothesis, it is felt that as the global wars which have been perpetrated by key vicious forces, hence the importance of this meet cannot be undermined from multiple areas and points of view. Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meet of the year 2025 in China’s Tanjin city definitely throws utmost significance upon global issues, especially on the life of citizens of South Asian Sub-Continent. Among all South Asian nations, my focusing will upon India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. The venue is at Tianjin in China. The clarion call of the meet is ‘Promoting the Shanghai Spirit’ SCO in action. Tanjin is the port city of China.

The participating nations in SCO meeting in Tanjin, China, are India, Russia, Turkey, Iran and Pakistan. Other participating nations include Bela Russia, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Uzbek, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia, Maldives, Laos, Vietnam etc other nations located in different parts of the globe. Apart from the above, UN secretary general and SCO secretary general are also attending these two days Summit. When my analysis draws towards its close.  attention to my respected online readers in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan, then the Summit will be over thereby delegates and global citizens will opt out for the declaration.

Now arriving at the key issues, let me throw light upon them. Among all the issues some of the common ones are stated as follow:

Evaluation of the completion of eightieth year of World War 11.

Completion of eighty-three years of Nagasaki and Hiroshima bomb blast.

Evaluation about feelings of solidarity being expressed to US President Donald Trump on his assumption of office for the second consecutive period.

Issue of Trump’s imposition of reciprocal tariff upon India and China.

Russia Ukraine War along with terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, air strikes by Pakistan in some parts of India and finally terrible political and social turmoil in Bangladesh.

Law and order situation in South Asian Subcontinent.

Political, social, economic and cultural development around South Asian Subcontinent.

So far, I have touched upon expected issues to be covered up by the attending member nations. When the Summit declaration surfaces upon us within a day or two, then we will be in a position get a good feel of the Summit so that Indian delegates might introspect new ideas about bilateral cooperations and dialogues among member nations. As South Asia is under severe political strain and stress, hence through this Summit the attending delegates might take pains to make the globe, especially the South Asian Sub-Continent.

My respected online readers in India and Bangladesh might wonder behind writing this column, what is the logical instance behind it. As Bangladesh is under severe political and social turmoil since August 5, 2024, hence the time has rightly arrived at in such a moment of time, to settle the Bangladeshi and Pakistani stalemate which has badly put a striking point about law-and-order situation. The way the Bangladeshi issue is turning to, hence the citizens dearly expect that the influence of powerful global forces seems dearly relevant. That means common citizens of the nation sincerely praying for peace and constructive development cum progress. Apart from Bangladeshi turmoil, I find that Pakistani issue seems deeply worrisome. The way Pakistan is aiming for heinous strike in and around neighboring India, predicts a highly despicable scenario. The Pakistani issue will also be taken into account, which we cannot deny from the core of our heart and mind. The Pahalgam strike on April 22, 2025, is an able reminder in this regard. On account of the above strike at Pahalgam, there was the loss of 27 human lives which are inclusive of Indian and Nepalese nationals.

Apart from the political and social issues, economic issue should not be taken up so lightly. If we abide by realistic notion, economic issue to my mind seems to be of paramount importance. Before I delve about the economic importance of SCO meet, let me give a brief touch up about the historical importance behind opening of SCO. The SCO conglomerates were formed out of five member nations way in the year 1996. The nations are China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan and Tajikistan. Now let me spell out the economic importance of SCO, which are stated below:

Strengthening of mutual trust, friendliness and bilateral cooperations among member nations.

Ensuring bilateral cooperations among member nations so that economic and political stability is easily achieved.

Emphasize upon political, social, economic, cultural, scientific and technological development.

Ensuring economic stability among member nations.

Ensuring trade, economic and business cooperations among all member nations.

Instead of delving upon key issues, entire globe and the citizens too are worried about Pakistani and Bangladeshi political and social stalemate. That is why in this year’s Summit at Tanjin, China, key issues are focused upon the above nations, and the rest pertains to global peace and prosperity. In any Global Summit which is held on a yearly basis, basic focussing is made upon law-and-order situation, development of political and social climate. But despite all the odds, we find that economic and technical issue is always rendered top priority which we cannot deny at all from the back of our mind and heart.

Apart from the above, issues we find that Bangladesh issue will be given topmost priority. In this regard, there lies a feeling among all political analysts of India, Bangladesh and other parts of the globe, that entire South Asian political and economic situation should be streamed off to positive temperament from a state of utmost cataclysm. That is why under the special chairing of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi things are turning out for betterment. It is for the cognizance of my respected online readers in India and Bangladesh; India became permanent member for SCO in the year 2017 during the SCO Summit in Astana.

Summation of the above views, one point becomes crystal clear in our mind. That peace and tranquil ambience along with economic upliftment should be developed for our macro development. More needs to be delve upon, but as the Summit is not yet over, we will comprehend a crystal-clear picture from Monday evening. Balance will be written by me in my post evaluation of the summit within a span of two to three days’ time. Before winding up my analysis I feel that under the stewardship of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of one of the major democracies of the globe, SCO will rise up on the top of the cliff soon. SCO Summit of the year 2026 is most likely to be held in India. This writer couldn’t state the exact date as it is not accurately known to me. Leaving aside the Bangladeshi turmoil, I feel that Pakistani issue should not neglect at all. Despite Pakistan being at its dilapidated stage, she must cherish deeply to cool down her venom against another powerful South Asian Superpower India.
